GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 81900
Font selection broken when using zvt with core X fonts
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: gnome-terminal Severity: minor Version: 1.9.5 Synopsis: Font size Bugzilla-Product: gnome-terminal Bugzilla-Component: general Description: Description of Problem: What happend to the font settings? There are only a few fonts and font sizes available? E.g., there is no fixed (misc) 14pt anymore. ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2002-05-15 15:07 ------- The original reporter (roman@gnome.org) of this bug does not have an account here. Reassigning to the exporter, unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org. Reassigning to the default owner of the component, hp@redhat.com.
I don't get this with gnome-terminal 2.0.0. I'm guessing it's a font config problem for the original poster.
I get this same problem. Shall we confirm?
Someone has to be a lot more specific about exactly what the problem is before this becomes new.
Please elaborate on this problem.
If I choose "Fixed (Sony)" I only have 16 and 24 available for selection of sizes. "Fixed (misc)" only has 12 and 13 as available sizes. Just "fixed" isn't available. Just random weirdness that is wildly divergent from previous gnome-terminal behaviour.
"fixed" only _has_ two sizes, unless you want to scale bitmaps and render your terminal super ugly. Anyway, this is using core X fonts right (for the font selector you have the silly option menu thing?). I'm not going to fix the core X font support, as fontconfig/Xft2 setups work fine and I don't have time to write a core X font selector. If someone wants to fix it then great, but it's not on top of my priority queue.
Will dup all the "Zvt with core X fonts font selector bites" bugs here. fontconfig/Xft2 based terminal (using vte widget for now) resolves all this.

This is fixed in Sun's build, I assume toshi put the relevant changes back to cvs as well though. Can somebody confirm/close?
WONTFIX this, as gnome-terminal no longer supports libzvt.
I guess you can't reassign a bug *and* resolve it...
