GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 81337
remove font prefs from nautilus
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
In GNOME2 Control Center under Themes, users can select widget and desktop fonts. In Nautilus (currently 1.1.15) in the preferences dialog, users can choose 3 type of fonts (one for view as icon, one for view as list, one for desktop that is the same as the capplet that I've mentioned). I think the only way for usability should be a unique desktop font selection, therefore I want remove font selection stuff in the nautilus preferences dialog. Soon I can append a patch for Nautilus (HEAD).
Retitling, remove font prefs from nautilus. Honestly, I don't see your patch being accepted as ui freeze is this coming monday. Also on nautilus-list@gnome.org we have discussed this quite a bit in the last week or so, with no clear consensus yet so this is really a post 2.0 enhancement.
Tonight I have intention to append my patch (if I will finished it). In future it will be already ready (even for the 2.0.1).
please email nautilus-list@gnome.org and gnome-doc-list@gnome.org with your patch explaining it etc. Cuz I would really like to see it applied.

I've just confirmed that 0512 snapshot of nautilus work not fine with 'desktop font' of font properties. only desktop not nautilus applied with the desktop font. why nautilus nyet?
plfiorini@libero.it: did you actually apply this? or is this just closed as a result of the discussion on nautilus-list?
louie: alex actually applied his own fixes yesterday.
Thanks, Dave.
