GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 81282
Desktop background will not change
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Version: 1.1.15 After an upgrade to nautilus 1.1.15, I right-clicked the desktop and chose "Use default background." Now, I'm finding it impossible to change the desktop image (everything acts normally but the desktop never changes).
I can't duplicate this.
How are you trying to change the desktop background, are you choosing "change desktop background" from the right click context menu????
In my case, I built from cvs. Did you build from tarballs?
I built this from the snapshot tarballs. It happens both when I right-click on the desktop or use the background capplet from the control center. I have had desktop trouble before (bug #81089). An additional problem today is the JPG images I am trying to load appear in the top-left button labelled "picture" in the background capplet, but not in the lower row of buttons where I could select scaling/stretching (instead I just see a colour).
Created attachment 8347 [details] screenshot of "no-image" bug in background capplet described above
