GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 78532
"GMT" should be "UTC"
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
#: applets/gen_util/clock.c:937 msgid "Use _GMT" The name "GMT" has been deprecated in favor of the name "UTC" (Universal coordinated time)(*). Thus, this string should most likely say "Use _CET" instead. (*) http://www.ghcc.msfc.nasa.gov/utc.html : "Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is the international time standard. It is the current term for what was commonly referred to as Greenwich Meridian Time (GMT)".
D'oh, what I meant was of course that the string should say "Use _UTC" instead.
Fixed in CVS
#: applets/gen_util/clock.schemas.in.h:4 msgid "Display time in Greenwich Mean Time zone" This should probably be changed to go with the change above.
#: applets/gen_util/clock.schemas.in.h:12 msgid "Use GMT" This one too These break string freeze, probably 2.0.1 material
Can we get this in now, Christian?
Certainly!
I can take care of this if that's ok.
Fixed in CVS HEAD now.
