I'm sure I've mentioned one of these issues before, but I couldn't find a bug for it. Apologies if I'm reproducing a bug that's been closed.

There are some layout issues with the controls in the player controls. Specifically:

 * The volume button doesn't have a raised appearance, whereas all the other controls do. This looks odd.

 * It doesn't look like the padding is equal around the volume button.

 * The time indicators aren't clearly associated with the time slider. Increasing the spacing between the time indicator and previous/play/next on the one side, and the time indicator and the dot button on the other would help with this. This would also help to break the bar up into groups, that it is easier to comprehend.

 * It's a bit strange having volume at the end of the bar, rather than the vertical dot button. Dots mean more, which logically comes after everything else.

A modified screenshot is attached. The original screenshot is on top.

It's more fittsy.

If it followed fitts' law, the button would be rammed into the corner of the screen. :)

Anywho, we've got some updated layout guidance that's relevant to this bug:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-mockups/master/content-apps/player-bar.png

The aim is to try and get Music following the same layout. This can be tracked in bug 775484.
