Description Allan Day 2016-02-11 12:39:45 UTC
The new downloads button is great, but it isn't very noticeable when it first appears. This is a problem because it means that users aren't getting prominent feedback that the download has begun, and they might think that it hasn't worked.

Firefox solves this problem by showing an animated icon that moves to the location of the downloads button.

We have had a similar problem with the new ongoing operations popover in nautilus. Ideally we would like to add an animation to draw attention to the downloads button when it appears. However, we have been unable to settle on an animation so far. In the mean time, nautilus now shows the popover when an operation is begun (this has the obvious disadvantage that the user has to dismiss the popover each time).

Hopefully whatever animation you settle on for nautilus will work for Epiphany as well.

This is what we do too, as of a few days ago, but there hasn't been an Epiphany release in a while so no way you could have noticed.
