Both 'Cursor blinks with text fields' and 'Close' use alt+C as shortcut
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Build : Solaris 8(sparc) 32-bit with Gnome2.0 Beta 2 Package : gnome2-Control-center Steps to reproduce the problem: 1.Select the Applications -> Preferences > KeyBoard properties 2.Under keyboard tab Press Alt + c . 3.It is not selecting the" Cursor Blinks in the Text Fields " option . Actual Results: If you press alt + c The " Cursor Blinks in the Text Fields " option is not working . Expected Results: If you press alt + c The " Cursor Blinks in the Text Fields " option should be selected How often does this happen? Always.
Sekhar: does this work for you in any solaris apps? There is at least some suggestion in another bug that all keyboard shortcuts are broken on Solaris. Lauris: upping to urgent as per discussion in IRC yesterday.
Luis: Yes. None of the keyboard Shortcut keys are working in Solaris .
So then closing, as this is not specific to gnomecc and will be fixed once the other problem is fixed.
Luis : Now for the some of the applications in solaris short cuts are working fine . Now I verified in Linux and Solaris-9 . Both 'Cursor blinks with text fields' and 'Close' are using C as the short cut . Its better to reopen this bug. .
Ah, OK. Reopening.
Re-titling. Should have done that earlier.
the alt+c shortcut works for me on solaris - it switches focus between close and the checkbox. if the summary is correctly describing this bug, it's minor (easy to fix). there are going to be collisions - esp. with translations - and it's handled properly in gtk 2.
Yeah, closing. Hadn't known gtk2 Did The Right Thing.
Tested on Solaris 8 build 11 (Oct 1 snapshot from CVS). Now for 'Cursor Blinks in the Text Fields' the shortcut key is changed as 'Alt+b' and 'Alt+c' is for to close the 'Preferences' window. So i guess this bug can be closed.
