Description Allan Day 2015-01-22 16:32:07 UTC
Boxes currently shows a placeholder when there are no boxes present. However, this is a bit flat and uninteresting for the first time you run the app.

One of the things we would like to do is have interesting and engaging welcome screens for all the content applications. Designs can be found here:

https://wiki.gnome.org/Design/Whiteboards/InitialStates#Tentative_Design

And there is an asset here for Boxes:

Note that this image is licensed under CC BY-SA, so attribution needs to be given. A CREDITS file and a mention in the About dialog could do the trick there.

Note that the text in the mockup is tentative - suggestions and comments are welcome there.

I'll try to look into this very soon. I'm not sure "remote connections" is the term we want to use. That could mean so many things (HTTP, SSH, FTP, etc). "remote machine" would be better I think. How about "Boxes can be virtual or remote machines."?
