Package: shotwell
Version: 0.18.1-2

shotwell 0.18.1 using debian testing is giving wrong event names in
Catalan language but correctly in English.

Same issue was detected at version 0.12.2 (Debian Bug report logs -
#675102).

Using Debian Jessie 3.11-2-amd64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Thanks a lot.

Comment 3 Xavi 2015-03-24 22:06:46 UTC
As well as, same issue with shotwell 0.20.1 using Debian 8 Jessie (testing)
Comment 4 Xavi 2015-03-26 07:11:14 UTC
Hi All,
thanks for shotwell project !! I've been a fun of it even I'm experimenting problems with my own language.

Event I'm not sure,my last tests makes me thing that the problem i'ts related just with day number view (1..31). So Weekday (M,T,F...), Month (Jan,Feb...) and year it's ok but the number (1..31) is the wrong thing. Of course, just in some scenarios. If you get on Photo details Shotwell shows the RIGHT Event date.

I've tesded version 0.18 with Linux Mint 17.1 (based on Ubuntu 14.04) and event dates in Catalan are ok, no problem at all.

Releating this "bug" with distros and shotwell version:

Shotwell 0.18 and 0.20 got Wrong events with:
- Debian 8 Jessie
- LMDE (linux mint Debian Edition v.1)

Shotwell 0.20 got Wrong events:
- Linux Mint 17.1

Shotwell 018 got RIGHT events:
- Linux Mint 17.1

This bug it's related to version 0.18 of shotwell and, as you can see, I'm speaking about two shotwell versions 0.18 and 0.20 and two kind of GNU/Linux (Bug 746709).

If you need any info or testing, please don't hesitate to contact.

I'm attaching next related information that it might be useful about related bugs where it was solved::
- shotwell 0.11 (ubuntu) corrected this bug: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/shotwell-list/2011-August/002721.html
- shotwell 0.14 (debian) whas ok compiling from source: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/shotwell-list/2013-April/004764.html

Thanks a lot.

Do you always have duplicate folders or do they only appear on catalan?

I have forward your question to the bug reporter.

His answer:

Only in Catalan. Not duplicate folders. It's just a problem with dates that are not correct.
In new versions of shotwell the problem is solved.
I'm using ubuntu now and it's working properly.

Ah great, I thought I had seen a fix for this in the git history. Closing obsolete then.
