GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 727856
braille keyboard layout is wrong/ignored
Last modified: 2020-04-22 17:33:48 UTC
Forwarded from Debian BTS https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=558895 by Andreas Romeyke ---------- Hello, if you select braille layout, there will be something wrong. Instead of printing braille-keys by pressing the braille-keys a-g&v and j-ö&n no key is triggered. But if you press any other keys, the key will be registered well. You could easily test this by a) switching layout to braille, b) press any key without "asdfv" and without "jklöm" (on Qwerz-Keyboard) and you see the registered key-events. c) if you press one or more keys of "asdfv" or "jklön" nothing will occur. If you switch to another layout, pE. usa or german, the layout will still work. Bye Andreas
Can you tell an example of an application where this layout is supposed to work correctly ? Does it work in any other desktop environment?
Hey Rui, I just confirmed the issue and reported here. I can't tell you an application where it is supposed to work. I e-mail the original submitter already but I don't have any answer until now. however I installed gnome-orca and it is working fine now, testing with gnome-control-center keyboard with input sources. maybe this can be closed since I can't reproduce it anymore. thanks althaser
