GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 72525
Request for "Javascript sites" feature
Last modified: 2014-08-26 19:49:29 UTC
I think it would be really useful to have a feature equal to Image Sites and Cookies Sites for Javascript. It would basically be just a list of sites where to allow Javascript to be ran from. Benefits: Because Javascript is often considered as a security flaw, people tend to keep it disabled. Usually, this doesn't "break" anything, and may even make some sites more usable. But!, in some sites, which you trust, you may want to keep it enabled, especially if it makes your life easier somehow. Examples: Certain stupid services of my ISP, which require it to be enabled ;) and Google (focus is moved to search bar when document is loaded, handy IMHO).I bet it's not a big job to find more examples.
masschange ganeral -> galeon-maint@bugzilla.gnome.org (which is currently me) sorry for the spam
Another big example of a site that annoyingly demands javascript is this very bugzilla :-) Seriously, tholugh, I don't know if it should go in a separate bug but this feature would be wonderful for Java applets, too.
