Save Gnumeric sheet to Excel format. Open with Gnumeric. Formula bar
shows negative entries with "+" sign instead of "-" although the number is
displayed in the cell as negative and seems to be treated internally as such.
I'm glad to link you to an example if you like, but it should be easy to
reproduce if I'm not completely deluded.

More detail please.
If I fire up 1.0.4 and enter
'-20' without quotes in A1
save it as xls
then reload
I see '-20' without quotes in the cell and on the editline

Got it. There was a typo in the XL exporter that swapped the unary positive
and negative. Fixed in both branches. The patch will be in 1.0.5 due next
weekend.
