GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 723246
Rule-based keyword highlighting
Last modified: 2021-06-10 11:03:56 UTC
As a module maintainer, I'd like to be able to have notifications when the name of my project/module is mentioned in a public channel, though I'd like to have exceptions to the rule. So, for example, whenever someone mentions "pitivi" (case insensitive) in #gstreamer I'd like to be notified, but when someone says "pitivi" in the #pitivi channel, that's just a "normal" conversation that does not require highlighting. I could imagine a preference UI where you can add some simple highlighting "rules" in a dialog: Notify me when this text is said: [ bananas ] (o) For all rooms Except: [ #gnome-hackers #gstreamer ] ( ) Only for these rooms: [ #donkeykong ] Or, perhaps more simply (there are various ways to design such a UI): Text to highlight: [ bananas ] [x] Except in these rooms: [ #gnome-hackers #gstreamer ] Would be pretty nifty.

Would be very nice to have.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version of Polari, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/polari/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
