Original Redmine bug id: 2239
Original URL: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/2239
Searchable id: yorba-bug-2239
Original author: Bengt Thuree
Original description:

If Shotwell should replace F-Spot, it needs to import all the tags that F-Spot
imports as well as writes.

F-Spot handles the below IPTC Location tags… And I think Shotwell should as
well.

Xmp.photoshop.City

Xmp.photoshop.State

Xmp.photoshop.Country

Xmp.iptc.Location

Xmp.photoshop.Source

I have submitted test photos earlier that contains these tags.

Any thoughts of this one?

I think it will make sense to import these tags when we implement a geographic
tree in the sidebar (#1473) which can use these tag values nicely. That didn't
happen for 0.8, but is a feature we could consider for the next couple of
releases since I know many users would like this.

I have 30,000+ photos tagged and all in F-Spot, so am a bit cautious in moving
to Shotwell to early before all my existing tags can be handled…

For my photos I use keywords (of course), but also use the IPTC Location tags.
It would be really nice, if I could edit them using shotwell. At the moment I
need a seperate program just to add location tags – and it's a lot of work
to change them.

Please, add at least a way to view & edit these tags as soon as possible, even
if you can't search for that information etc.

If City, State, Country are not set, try to get them via
