GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 70577
gnome-core should use intltool for panel hints
Last modified: 2009-08-15 18:40:50 UTC
1.4 branch started to use xml-i18n-tools at some point, but the changes weren't merged to HEAD. Please use intltool for all .desktop files. As great i18n is one of gnome2 features and this bug won't take long, target should be gnome 2.0 Would be nice to have panel.hints renamed to panel_hints.xml and be handled by intltool too.
I am working on it
I made it use intltool for all .desktop and .directory files already
Gediminas, I can't see any ChangeLog entries for adding intltool support, nor intltool files http://cvs.gnome.org/bonsai/rview.cgi?dir=gnome-core&rev=&module=default&cvsroot=%2Fcvs%2Fgnome What do I miss?
There are descriptive entries in every ChangeLog where changes were made, i.e. po/ChangeLog, panel/ChangeLog, gnome-about/ChangeLog etc. intltool files are never put into CVS. configure.in was already correct. You haven't seen a message in cvs-commits-list because during this mega-commit (~60 files changed) a broken pipe occured and the message didn't go to mailing list.
Thanks, .desktop files look great! Panel hints?
gnome-hints is not ported, so panel.hints are not used anyway.
I'm reopening. After gnome-hints is ported please start on this too. Thanks Gediminas !
