Description Christian Marillat 2002-02-04 16:40:00 UTC
Hi,

I often want to make a certain class of window appear in a certain place.
Matched windows are the right way to do this. However, it is painful to
find exactly where the window is currently located and then enter it into
the fields of the configurator. The dialog for configuring matchers has
"Grab" buttons for things like "Class" and "Icon Name"; I feel it should
have similar buttons that would capture things like Position, Dimension,
and Depth.

would need a lot of changes and client/server integration, probably
won't happen
Comment 2 Tom 2004-11-02 09:14:58 UTC
isn't it possible to do something like "execute xwininfo and parse its output
when the user wants to grab a window position"?
