I added the desktop file hint to master in commit 367b6cdadeef4a3de1087bfd9791da6cb9495402.

The desktop file changes were missing, and, because the vino preferences should probably not be used/installed in GNOME 3.8, there's chances that gnome-shell won't be able to match the vino-server notifications with the expected/listed vino ones.
