GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 689825
Nautilus 'Empty.' notification when entering empty folders.
Last modified: 2015-07-23 20:23:28 UTC
It'll be nice to have a 'Empty' text notification on the background of Nautilus if the user enters an empty folder. The behaviour in realtion to 'Show Hidden Files' is debatable :) Have 1 state: 'Empty' with 'Show Hidden Files' on and off Have 2 states: 'Empty' = no hidden files, 'Empty with hidden' = if hidden files still present Has to be thought through. I'm just too tired to think it through ;)

Additional information from duplicates: "Having an empty white view is not very friendly and is confusing since that also occurs when the view is loading." (from bug 691814) This confusion is evident when loading takes a considerable ammount of time, as can happen for remote mounts (from bug 745828). This would be nice to have. There's a mockup for it here: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-mockups/master/nautilus/nautilus-next/wire-empty-folder.png
