Why "development tool" and not "development"?
Why "ide" instead of proper "IDE" spelling?

Users may not exactly search using the correct case. To simplify their search they may also use lower case letters.
Comment 6 Johannes Schmid 2012-11-17 14:20:42 UTC
I am pretty sure that GNOME Shell and Unity actually search non case sensitive so both ide and IDE will be unneeded. But maybe someone can quote from the docs...

we do prefix matching, so "development" will be more than enough to match
we also ignore case when comparing, so ide vs IDE won't make any difference
