Description Paolo Borelli 2002-01-15 18:23:53 UTC
It would be useful if the symlink target showed in the properties dialog
(right-clicking on a symlink) was editable (as it is the name of the
file). I know this is an enanchement, but I think it would be useful to
have it soon because at the moment there is no fast way to change the
target of a symlink (the possibilities at the moment are deleting the
symlink and making a new one or doing it from the command line). Windows
2000 has this feature.
Comment 1 Darin Adler 2002-01-15 18:36:01 UTC
If you'd like to have this soon, then you should either contribute
a patch to add the feature, or find a willing hacker to contribute
such a patch. We're quite busy porting to Gnome 2 and this feature
is nowhere near the top of the list.

Good idea, though.

Surprised no one has asked for this before, but AFAICT, it is new.
Comment 3 Dave Bordoley [Not Reading Bug Mail] 2002-05-11 18:01:15 UTC
well symlinks in nautilus are different than windows 2000 shortcuts,
which are basically the equivalent of .desktop files. anyway found the
dupe and marking as such.
