Having separate launchers for Software Updates and Software Settings clutters the applications view. They're also not really needed.

Software Settings is already available via Add/Remove Software. The same could be done for Software Updates by adding a Check for Updates item to the Add/Remove Software application menu (bug 675829).

These changes will require that Add/Remove Software is given a name which suggests these options can be found via the same application (see bug 675638).
