Description William Jon McCann 2012-05-08 18:49:04 UTC
If you have a monitor to the right of the current workspace it is quite hard to hit the scrollbars when the window is maximized. This is partly because some are accustomed to throwing the mouse at the screen edge. It appears as a barrier after all.

It would be nice if we could add a little bit of resistance there to make it easier to target.

We probably don't this if we are in drag and drop mode.

We may only need this in the proximity of the scrollbar handle.

I think we only show a scroll bar for search results now. This is still an issue there, though.

Sorry, I thought this was about the shell's scroll bars, but it's clearly about scroll bars in apps.

Even so, we also show a scrollbar in the Wi-Fi dialog, and in the notifications list.

Neither of those is located on a monitor edge though, so there's no difference at all to single-monitor setups.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
