Description fred 2001-12-21 09:15:03 UTC
Select a line (line 6), and set word wrap properties (check box in
alignement tab) click "apply" and "valid".

Now enter something like "This is a very long sentence" in cell A6.

Word wrap is ok, but the cell is not fully resized to display the entire text.

I use french translation for gnumeric, so i'm not sure about the right
label in buttons.

We do not autoresize cols rows based on a user typing. Double click on the
boundary between row 6 & 7 in the row headers and it will resize. This might
be a useful feature, but it will be low on the priority list given that easy
work arounds exist.

Curiously this still does not work.

It seems that upon entry when we try to resize, the cell has not yet been
displayed, and display is what ends up setting the width of the pango
layout.

*Ugh*

Fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major release. Thank you for your bug report.

This also fixes a compagnion bug: if a such cell had not been displayed
(because it was off-screen when loaded) we would auto-size the column
incorrectly.
