Description Jeff Waugh 2001-12-07 05:05:17 UTC
Point form:

- Edge flipping takes over a pixel or so space at the edge of the screen,
interrupting Fitt's Law love for stuff on the edges.

- Many people use horizontal workspaces/viewports: [ 1 ][ 2 ][ 3 ][ 4 ]

- The most important two areas for Fitt's love in this set up are the top
and bottom of the screen (standard panels live here).

- Sawfish takes over *every* edge, regardless of the viewport layout being
horizontal only.

- If Sawfish only took over the edges required for edge flipping, we'd have
far more opportunity for Fitt's Law infinite edges for panels and other items.

Thanks!

Comment 2 John Harper 2002-02-18 02:17:13 UTC
someone sent a patched copy of flippers.c to the list supporting this
feature. It should probably be merged
Comment 3 John Harper 2002-04-23 06:12:17 UTC
but since edge-flipping isn't enableable from the UI anymore, this is
non-urgent
