Created attachment 197469 [details] This debug.out file perhaps show why happening this problem Dear Developers, In Nautilus icon view Orca doesn't presenting position index values, both if checked the speak child position check box in Orca preferences dialog/speech page, and if the user doing a where am I operation. I fraid this bug is a nautilus bug too. Reproducation steps: 1. Activate your desktop, and moving desktop icons with arrow keys. 2. Do where am I operation. You will be hear the selected icon count is correct, but the position index (actual icon number and how many icons have in the list) is not correct. If checked the speak child position check box, Orca automaticaly not spokening the now bugy position index value. I attaching the required debug.out file. I using now Ubuntu Oneiric, latest Orca master version, and my desktop session is GNOME3 fallback session. Attila
I choosed general component, because this problem is will be not only speech component specific with future. Now I working an another enhancement with I prewious doed to present position index values with braille display too, similar with orca provide with speech only users if checked the speak child position check box. I very would like finalize this feature if possible before beginning the next Orca version development, or before next final Orca 3.4 version. :-):-) This enhancement main code progress is good, only need doing the UI check box in Orca preferences dialog and ask future the users to test lot of braille users this new feature. Bug 660559 has been opened. Nautilus is telling us the wrong item is focused so we don't actually know where you are.
Ugh. Make that bug 660599.
This Orca problem got fixed in Nautilus, but as part of bug 677509.
