For GNOME 3 we are exposing app icon in the overview in the shell in higher resolution than usual. While the app icon for file roller has been created as vectors, the amount of details has targeted a 48x48px canvas. The icon is not fuzzy, but its style deviates from the norm.

Attached is an updated file roller icon with the 256x256px high resolution bitmap included. I've also taken the liberty to replace the blue folder with a beige one. If you feel strongly about keeping the old identity, I will update.

bellissima :) thank you.

two questions:

1) is the scalable version not needed anymore?

2) what is the source.svg file used for? Do I have to save it in git without installing it?
Comment 3 Jakub Steiner 2011-03-18 19:38:46 UTC
1) The high resolution bitmap is in place of the old scalable, so you don't need to install the old SVG (there is a 48x48px bitmap however).

2) The source SVG is simply the artwork in vector form, useful for the artists to perform tweaks in the future or create derivatives. You are right, it isn't meant to be installed. Just keep it in the source tree.
