GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 64297
Selection rectangle is not visible on black background cells
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Description of Problem: The Gnumeric selection rectangle is always black. Therefore the selection rectangle is not visible on black background cells. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Create a new spreadsheet. 2. Select the A column. 3. Change the background colour to black. 4. Select the range A3:B3. Actual Results: The selection rectangle is not visible on the A3 cell. Expected Results: The selection rectangle should be visible on the A3 cell. How often does this happen? Always. Additional Information: I would suggest that the colour of the selection rectangle in Gnumeric should depend on the background colour of the underlying cell. Microsoft Excel inverts the background colour.

Please send a sample workbook rather than a screenshot.
Confirmed as described.
1. Select A1:A10 2. Make background black. 3. Select A5:B5 ==> A5 is completely black. 4. Select B5:A5 ==> A5 is greyish as expected. 5. Select A column ==> A1 is completely black. 6. Select row 5. ==> A5 is completely black.
Fixed in cvs.
