1. Start Gnumeric
2. Enter "1" in A1.
--> Column A shrinks.

The problem described here is fixed, but we still have similar problems with not widening a column if we enter, say a date.

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
