Description Risto Jääskeläinen 2010-07-23 09:11:12 UTC
Here is a collection of possible typos I find when translating to finnish.
This bugs are not critical but may be give more accurate impression if they are corrected.

If needed I can make separate postings for each case.

1)
# Lähde: 1-Jan-1900 po. 1-Jan-1970?
#: ../plugins/fn-date/functions.c:139
msgid "The UNIT2DATE function translates Unix timestamps into date serial values. Unix timestamps are number of seconds since Midnight 1-Jan-1900."

2)
# Lähde: Sunday po. Tuesday?
#: ../plugins/fn-date/functions.c:615
msgid "If @{method} is 2, then Monday is 1, Sunday is 2, etc."
msgstr "Jos @{method} on 2, niin maanantai on 1, tiistai on 2 jne."

3)
# Lähde: ISO turha?
#: ../plugins/fn-date/functions.c:1075
msgid "WEEKNUM:ISO week number"

(Explanation: Weeknum function can handle other than ISO weeknumbers too?)

4)
# Lähde: _DELTA po. _GAMMA?
#: ../plugins/fn-derivatives/options.c:351
msgid "OPT_BS_DELTA uses the Black-Scholes model to calculate the 'gamma' of a European option struck at @{strike} on an asset with spot price @{spot}. The gamma of an option is the second derivative of its price with respect to the price of the underlying asset."

5)
# Lähde: _DELTA po. _VEGA?
#: ../plugins/fn-derivatives/options.c:452
msgid "OPT_BS_DELTA uses the Black-Scholes model to calculate the 'vega' of a European option struck at @{strike} on an asset with spot price @{spot}. The vega of an option is the rate of change of its price with respect to volatility."

6)
# Lähde: _DELTA po. _RHO?
#: ../plugins/fn-derivatives/options.c:518
msgid "OPT_BS_DELTA uses the Black-Scholes model to calculate the 'rho' of a European option struck at @{strike} on an asset with spot price @{spot}. The rho of an option is the rate of change of its price with respect to the risk free interest rate."

(Expl. 4...6: Maybe it is just copied text of function OPT_BS_DELTA for other similar functions but names are not changed?)

7)
# Lähde: double-declining po. variable declining?
#: ../plugins/fn-financial/functions.c:3247
msgid "VDB calculates the depreciation of an asset for a given period range using the double-declining balance method."

(Expl. there is DDB function for double declining, so here variable?)

8)
# lähde: puuttuuko kaarisulut?
#: ../plugins/fn-info/functions.c:1497
msgid "ERROR.TYPE:the type of @error"
msgstr "ERROR.TYPE: @{error}-tyyppi"

9)
# lähde: text po. name?
#: ../plugins/fn-info/functions.c:1551
msgid "ERROR:the error with name @{text}"
msgstr "ERROR:virhe nimeltään @{name}"

10)
# Lähdevirhe SHEETS po. SHEET?
#: ../plugins/fn-lookup/functions.c:1594
msgid "If @{reference} is neither a reference nor a literal sheet name, SHEETS returns #VALUE!"
msgstr "Jos @{reference} ei ole viite eikä taulukon nimi, SHEET palauttaa #ARVO!-virheen."

11)
# lähde: th po. the?
#: ../plugins/fn-math/functions.c:1494
msgid "SUMSQ:sum of th squares of all values and cells referenced"

12)
# lähde: x po. d?
#: ../plugins/fn-math/functions.c:1617
msgid "x:non-negative integer, defaults to 0"
msgstr "d:ei-negatiivinen kokonaisluku, oletuksena on 0"

13)
# Lähde: SEARCH po. SEARCHB?
#: ../plugins/fn-string/functions.c:1333
msgid "If @{start} is less than one or it is greater than the byte length of @{text}, SEARCH returns #VALUE!"
msgstr "Jos @{start} on vähemmän kuin yksi tai suurempi kuin @{text}-merkkijonon pituus tavuina, SEARCHB palauttaa #ARVO!-virheen."

14)
# lähde: vaikuttaa epäloogiselta, mutta ...
#: ../plugins/fn-tsa/functions.c:914
msgid "Inverse:if false, the inverse Fourier transform is calculated. Defaults to false"

(Expl. It just seems non-logical to use false for YES? but ...)

I missed -functions- part of .po file name. Try to edit.

Sorry

Risto, is your po file up to date? Many of these have already been fixed in git.
Comment 3 Andreas J. Guelzow 2010-07-23 17:26:53 UTC
#1,2,3,8,11,and 14 already appear fix in git (I recall fixing them during the last months.)

I have fixed the remaining issues. Thank you for your bug report.

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
Comment 4 Risto Jääskeläinen 2010-07-23 17:46:52 UTC
Thanks!

GIT is not familiar to me so I just checked latest source from Gnumeric www-page.
Newest .po-file seems to be that of DE, modified 2010-06-21. There I find that some number codes in my report differs from that file so I have a bit old file indeed. But only my finding nro 11 was there corrected (there is really "the" not "th"!)

I am glad that I was not wasting your time with outdated bugs and that these minor bugs are now corrected.

Regards
Risto
