Description Sam Morris 2010-03-01 16:19:32 UTC
In longer web pages, I have the habit of selecting text as I read it. I do this by double-clicking and dragging to set the selection. When I do this with epiphany, I often end up locked out of my X display!

The cursor changes to the drag and drop cursor, but releasing the mouse inside or outside of epiphany does not end the drag. I am, in fact, no longer able to click on _anything_ on the screen. The only way to recover from this situation is to ssh in from another host and kill epiphany off.

i've seen this too, but then i couldn't reproduce it
Comment 2 Sam Morris 2010-03-01 16:40:12 UTC
It's pretty easy to reproduce for me. If someone can suggest something useful I can do with gdb then I'm happy to gather more info. :)

Sam, as a workaround when you get the locked cursor try clicking and dragging a link in the page, after releasing (wherever) your cursor will be back, I'm surviving it like that nowadays.

This is a WebKit bug: https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32840
Comment 5 Sam Morris 2010-03-05 10:26:44 UTC
If you do this with an image then there is no way to get epiphany to release the mouse.
