GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 611163
Crash in Natural cubic spline
Last modified: 2010-02-26 11:01:54 UTC
Created attachment 154738 [details] Just press Del to get a crash If some part of data used in plot of types 'Natural cubic spline' or 'Cubic spline with (any) extrapolation' is deleted, gnumeric crashes with a message as follows. GLib-ERROR **: gmem.c:136: failed to allocate 1024 bytes aborting... It does not crash if the line type is any of Bezier or clamped splines. Attached is a file which shows tha crash when B3 cell is deleted. Note also that the plot line is actually two overlapping lines in some of the spline types, not all, I guess that is not intended... The crash is seen with gnumeric 1.10.0 under FreeBSD 8 and gnumeric 1.9.16 under WinXP.
Did not crash for me, just went out of memory and that killed my session.
Also I see two curves not one i the original file. Seems that cubic splines are broken when there are invalid data.
This problem has been fixed in our software repository. The fix will go into the next software release. Thank you for your bug report.
