Description Tobias Mueller 2009-09-05 17:45:05 UTC
We have rules in http://live.gnome.org/Bugsquad/TriageGuide/ProductSpecificGuidelines and some of them look weird and redundant such as "If possible get a backtrace from the user with all thread backtraces (i.e. using 'bt thread apply all' instead of 'bt' in GDB)".

The task is, to write an email asking for review of these rules and send that either to the maintainers or to d-d-l.

Mail sent, waiting for feedback.

Dear Maintainers :)

We, the Bugsquad, wonder, how accurate the Product Specific Instructions
on live.gnome.org currently are. You can find the at
http://live.gnome.org/Bugsquad/TriageGuide/ProductSpecificGuidelines and
we kindly ask you to revisit the rules for your module.

For example it's not needed to ask for a stacktrace (of all threads)
because we ask the user to do that anyway
(http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces/Details).

Requesting output from a special program (xrandr, gconf, ...) or a log
is a good idea though.

So please visit
http://live.gnome.org/Bugsquad/TriageGuide/ProductSpecificGuidelines and
help us getting the most out of our bugreports :)

Thanks,
  Tobi
  for the GNOME Bugsquad

Mail sent, so I think we can close this :)
Comment 3 Tobias Mueller 2010-03-25 22:28:20 UTC
Uh, I think it was sent to gnome-bugsquad and awaited feedback ;-) I don't believe anybody sent to to d-d-l yet. Will either search the archives or wait for confirmation ;-) Then possible send to d-d-l.

finally closing. I assume this is not relevant anymore.
