Description Emilio Pozuelo Monfort 2009-08-31 11:56:13 UTC
Hi,

According to http://live.gnome.org/GNetLibrary, gnet is deprecated. gnome-mud should probably switch to glib and/or libsoup.

Hello,

I'm aware not much has been done with this project in several years, so sorry for attaching this to your bug report, but it's relevant and the mailing list is gone.

I've been working on replacing gnet with GIO and would like a maintainer, if any are still around, to review it soon. The mailing list no longer exists. I've not used Glib before so I'm sure there are better ways of doing everything and would like to learn them.

My work in progress can be viewed here: https://github.com/steven-jackson/gnome-mud/commits/use-gio

Thanks

I might be able to review after April is over and I'm less busy.
A big thing we need to get finished to be able to release anything off of master afterwards, is finishing the rewrites that were happening before development stalled - as-is various features are unusable due to being in the middle of refactoring

This has been reviewed and merged into master, pending other fixing, bug 635573 and other deprecated stuff replacement to hash out a release. Thanks!
