Description mathieu.marquer 2009-08-17 13:28:37 UTC
From https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/414565 :

I'm using Ubuntu Karmic up-to-date as of 16 August.

When I select any video file (~700MB) in Nautilus, the memory taken by the Nautilus process increases undefinitely until nautilus crashes.

I've been unable to get a backtrace or a valgrind since gdb says "the program exited normally" just after launching nautilus, and valgrind also exists just after launching nautilus.

Please let me know if you need additional informations. This bug may be a dupe of Launchpad bugs #407809 and #412040

Do you still experience this in a newer version of nautilus (eg 2.30)? I just browsed and selected a video file about the same size and could see any significant increase in memory nor crash.
