GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 591761
GnuCash 2.3.3 doesn't start in XP
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:26:36 UTC
I installed GnuCash 2.3.3 from the binaries for Windows. The installation went well but when I run the program it doesn't show anything. There are two processes running: gnucash-bin.exe and gconfd-2.exe but nothing happens. I was using version 2.2.9 without any trouble.
Created attachment 140885 [details] zipped csv file from process monitor
I can confirm similar behavior in r18253 gnucash-bin.exe and gconfd-2.exe are created but exit after a few seconds. (The Tip of the day window is shown and some loading is done) The stacktrace is pretty small, I paste it in the comment --------------------- This GDB was configured as "i686-pc-mingw32"... (gdb) run Starting program: G:\Programme\gnucash-svn\bin/gnucash-bin.exe ---Type <return> to continue, or q <return> to quit--- Program exited with code 02. (gdb) backtrace No stack. (gdb) --------------------- I attached a zipped csv file from Process Monitor perhaps I can help finding the bug.
I face the same behavior (on Vista). The problem is explained by bug 592185 : if I remove the datasource (drop database) and trying to start GnuCash, GnuCash fails on startup but if I recreate the datasource (may be empty, just create database) and trying to stat GnuCash now, it runs without any trouble the cause of this problem is in bug 592185 david -
I meant the datasource lastly used.
