Description Javier Jardón (IRC: jjardon) 2009-07-29 21:43:12 UTC
As discussed in various places we shouldn't use the generic name in the name
field in the desktop files:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xdg/2009-July/010807.html

We should also have consistency between the Name field, the name used in the
titlebar, the name used in the application menu (gnome-shell, or OS X), the
about box, and the documentation.

patch applied to master, thank you.

Why did the Name field say "Archive Manager" in the first place? Wouldn't it be more appropriate for it to say "File Roller" and for GenericName to say "Archive Manager"? The about box still uses "File Roller <version>" if I am not mistaken, so this doesn't achieve all the consistencies mentioned in the first comment. Also, removing any mentioning of "File Roller" doesn't seem like a good idea since "Archive Manager" is fairly generic and the software *is* called "File Roller" everywhere else (e.g. its website).
