Pidgin has a nice feature: all IM / chats can be saved as TEXT, (not html or xml), so we can grep in the logs for some regexps etc.
Epiphany seems to have no such option. Messages are stored in XML. Of course this gives the option to format the xml afterwards, however, plain text should be an option, too, specially as we already have this in pidgin.
