This may be an issue with Debian's gtkhtml packages (I just noticed that I upgraded from 3.2.26.3 to to 3.27.4 yesterday). Bug filed downstream at <http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=537161> and I will re-open this bug if necessary.
