Description brutus 2009-07-14 19:37:21 UTC
Please describe the problem:
upgraded from 0.3.x version to 0.5.2. Since then, SCIM is not working anymore on gnote, i.e. usual ctrl+space do not activate the input method.

Steps to reproduce:
1. install SCIM (and configure it) and set a preferred input method (russian, hindi, pinin)
2. Check that ctrl+space switches input method ON/OFF on apps such as gedit or gnome-terminal and thus non latin characters are writable
3. try ctrl-space on gnote

Actual results:
SCIM is not activated, thus only latin characters are typed

Expected results:
switch on/off SCIM input method, thus permitting typing of asian or non-latin characters

Does this happen every time?
yes

Other information:
Seemed to work fine on 0.3.x version.
Problem experienced in a debian testing/sid environment

Confirmed: present in 0.5.3-1.fc11 (fedora 11)
Dealbreaker for everyone who doesn't use the latin character set.
Comment 2 Osamu Aoki 2009-11-28 05:16:39 UTC
Gnote 0.6.2 does not have this problem in Debian squeeze/sid (or even backported locally).
Comment 3 Aurimas Černius 2011-01-10 21:11:17 UTC
Is this problem still present with more recent versions of Gnote, such as 0.6.* and 0.7.*?
Please respond, if the problem is still present. If there's no response in a week or so, I'll consider this bug obsolete and will close it. Thanks.
