GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 587295
"Delete permanently" should not be close to "restore" in the trash bin
Last modified: 2015-06-07 21:50:23 UTC
When inadvertently moving the pointing device, a user can perform an action that is the total opposite of his intent and that can not be undone (at least not by average users). Restore could be moved in the "cut, copy, paste" section since people used to have to cut and paste items from the trash when there was no restore action. "Delete permanently" can be kept in its own section, as far as possible from "restore". From an accessibility point of view, this is also an important problem for people who are not able to use pointing devices precisely. Other information: A bug in the "100 papercuts" initiative of Ubuntu depends on this one: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/392758
Confirming. This is dependent on us implementing a custom context menu for the trash.
Allan, you say you're confirming it but the report is still marked as 'Unconfirmed'. Can you please change this to it is reflected in downstream bug trackers? Thanks :)

It's the Launchpad bug linked to in the original description. Thanks for the confirmation.
I thought I'd just add a link to the bug report that this fix is dependent on. http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91437
Doesn't the delete item present a confirmation dialog?
