Description David Paleino 2009-06-11 16:48:33 UTC
Wishlist bug from a Debian user:

/---
| I imported 2 photos from a camera, and wanted to import further ones
| from the same camera. Unfortunately, after clicking "Import" and
| importing the first two, the dialog box then closed and I had to
| reopen it - including reading all the photographs off the camera from
| scratch - in order to import the next photos. It would be much better
| if there was a "Done" button or the like offered after importing
| photos, allowing for the possibility of importing more than one batch.
\---

Kindly,
David

In most cases, the user will be done after one import batch, so the current situation fits the most common use case. Adding another step in the most common use case is not appealing.

Sorry for reopening it -- it's IMHO a bug. I believe adding an option to the Preferences dialog is not too difficult.

If you don't want to fix this, please mark it as VERIFIED WONTFIX, and I won't reopen it.

It's a bug, even if a wishlist.

Thanks for your work on gthumb,
David

Paolo (the main developer) hates adding preferences :-)

Adding a preference is simple but this doesn't mean it makes sense, there are a lot of reasons to avoid useless preferences but I'm not going to list theme here, search on Internet if you are interested.

This is definitely not a bug, closing...
