GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 584578
Keyboard accessibility settings are reset periodically
Last modified: 2020-11-06 19:57:54 UTC
Please describe the problem: Keyboard accessibility settings are reset to defaults on an irregular basis. The reset is hard to predict, isn't tied specifically to reboots, but settings generally last less than a day. Observed with 'Ignore repeat keypresses' setting specifically, and another user reports that settings for Enabling Sounds and Modifier Keys reset as well. Bug reported to Ubuntu at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-applets/+bug/209532 Steps to reproduce: 1. Under Keyboard Preferences->Accessibility, enable 'Ignore fast duplicate keypresses'. 2. Wait a while (few hours, a day) then check the settings again. 3. Actual results: Everything works for a while, then I realize some time later that the settings are off again. Expected results: Eventually they will be reset. Does this happen every time? Happens consistently over time but hard to predict when they reset Other information: Running jaunty Ubuntu netbook remix release on an Acer Aspire One.
