Description Simos Xenitellis 2009-06-01 22:58:58 UTC
gnome-sound-recorder crashes when we change the mixer device in the Sound settings in GNOME.

Typically, a user would change the mixer device between Alsa and Pulseaudio in order to use some Pulseaudio features such as migrating input/output devices.
However, users may switch back to Alsa.
The problem is that when gnome-sound-recorder is open when the mixer device changes, then the program crashes.

gnome-sound-recorder should not crash due to a change of the mixer device.
It should detect the change and update itself accordingly.

A correction to above:

The crash of gnome-sound-recorder occurs only when we are recording and we change the default input with pavucontrol (PulseAudio Volume Control).
