Description Nicolò Chieffo 2009-05-29 12:17:50 UTC
I'm running empathy 2.27.1 and all my msn contacts are always shown as offline. In 2.26 there wasn't this problem
Comment 1 Guillaume Desmottes 2009-05-29 12:26:46 UTC
Which connection manager are you using? Butterfly or Haze? And which version?
Comment 2 Nicolò Chieffo 2009-05-29 12:32:19 UTC
Thanks for your immediate interest.
I use telepathy-butterfly 0.3.3

I'm sure the bug is in empathy because I replaced empathy from 2.27 to 2.26 (with all libempathy*) and it works.
Comment 3 Nicolò Chieffo 2009-05-29 12:51:39 UTC
I've just installed 2.27.2 and it seems good for me, sorry
Comment 4 Nicolò Chieffo 2009-05-29 13:50:30 UTC
It happened again...
Comment 5 Nicolò Chieffo 2009-06-01 17:08:15 UTC
I'm now on 2.27.2 the behavior is strange:
- 1st run: users never shown
- quit empathy
- wait 30 seconds
- start it: users not shown again
- quit empathy
- immediately reopen it: users shown

and I can't open a chat window with any user (when they show online)
Comment 6 Nicolò Chieffo 2009-06-01 19:23:48 UTC
Also nothing happens if the users start to send messages: it seems that the chat window simply can't open).
Comment 7 Guillaume Desmottes 2009-06-08 16:32:45 UTC
I can reproduce this issue with Master and butterfly.
Raising the priority as that's a very nasty regression.
Comment 8 Nicolò Chieffo 2009-06-08 17:09:02 UTC
Thanks
Comment 9 Guillaume Desmottes 2009-06-09 14:07:47 UTC
Butterfly doesn't fire the SimplePresence.PresencesChanged signal. I filed https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22172 about that.

I let this bug open for now while we are not 100% sure that's the reason of this problem.
Comment 10 Olivier Le Thanh Duong 2009-06-10 11:30:55 UTC
This bug has been fixed in master telepathy-butterfly. Thanks for your bug report.
