Description David Jaša 2009-05-28 07:18:18 UTC
It would be cool if evince could be default viewer also for office files of Microsoft Office and OpenOffice. For example when I downoad some .doc file from the Internet to read it, it means quite long start of OpenOffice, that in addition isn't exactly a comfortable viewer even if it's in read-only mode.

If evince could view any editable document format, there could be handy a "Edit" toolbar button that would run appropriate editor.

This was also reported in Ubuntu:

Document Viewer has no support for common office document file formats
