Description Ariel 2009-05-15 05:17:43 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Using file roller, I create a new file.7z archive, setting a password, checking the "encrypt file names too" option, and activating "split in volumes of" say 10MB.

File-roller creates the multiple file.7z.00x files, no problem. When I open them double clicking in nautilus on file.7z.001, file-roller without asking the passowrd, shows the "file.7z" archive in its main window, which supposedly contains the un-split but encrypted and compressed original files.

Within file-roller window, I double click in "file.7z", then I am prompted for the password, and after entering in correctly I get gnome's "Open Files" dialog that seems to be asking for an application to open the file; I enter /usr/bin/file-roller and click OK and get an error:
"Could not open file.7z" "The file does not exist"

If instead of double clicking in "file.7z" I drag it to a nautilus window, nothing happens.

If I right click on file.7z and select "Extract", file-roller ask me the destination directory and then says "Extraction completed successfully" but it does not extract any file whatsoever.

I know the split .7z file generated by file-roller is OK because I can open it with 7zip in windows.

Steps to reproduce:
1. create a new file.7z archive, setting a password, checking the "encrypt file names too" option, and activating "split in volumes of" say 10MB.
2. When I open them double clicking in nautilus on file.7z.001, file-roller without asking the passowrd, shows the "file.7z" archive in its main window
3. Within file-roller window, I double click in "file.7z", then I am prompted for the password, and after entering in correctly I get gnome's "Open Files" dialog that seems to be asking for an application to open the file; I enter /usr/bin/file-roller and click OK

Actual results:
and get an error: "Could not open file.7z" "The file does not exist"

Also within file-roller: If I right click on file.7z and select "Extract", file-roller ask me the destination directory and then says "Extraction completed successfully" but it does not extract any file whatsoever.

Expected results:
I expect my original files to be shown in file-roller's main window, and I expect them to be extracted when I right-click and select "Extract"

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Other information:
Ubuntu 9.04 / package p7zip-full is installed; non-split encrypted .7z files can be created and opened with no problem.
