Description Kamil Páral 2009-05-05 11:41:28 UTC
Please describe the problem:
One click on mixer applet icon shows simple volume control window (see screenshot). The slider in that window works reversed as it should work - mouse wheel up decreases volume, mouse wheel down increases volume. It should be vice versa.

This bug has been confirmed by a large number of Ubuntu users, see downstream bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-applets/+bug/335333

Also the arrow keys (up/down) are reversed when the horizontal scrollbar is selected, so up reduces volume as with the scrollwheel.

The bug is fundamentally in GTK. See:

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91961

There is a work-around for gtkrc here:

http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gtk-list/2006-November/msg00124.html

I'm working on trying to get a fixup going in the mixer itself.

A workaround has been coded up and should be ready for the (slightly late) 2.26.2 release.
