Advanced Portfolio: option to allow dividend in cash
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:21:13 UTC
(From gnucash-user list: http://lists.gnucash.org/pipermail/gnucash-user/2009-April/029542.html ) Dividends in cash are not included in the Advanced Portfolio report because they are not part of the portfolio. How about adding an option that would allow the user to include in the report calculation the Incomes:Dividends accounts that have a matching account code ? - For each 'Action' (type) account selected --- For each 'Incomes' (type) account available ----- If the 'Incomes' account has the same Account Code ----- as the 'Action' account ------- Sum up the transactions in that account ------- EXCEPT the transactions already implying the 'Action' account ------- (to avoid having a re-invested dividend counted twice) ------- Add the balance as dividend in the calculations of the report
Here is a tip from the gnucash-user mailing list: http://lists.gnucash.org/pipermail/gnucash-user/2009-May/029779.html To make dividends in cash to appear in the Advanced Portfolio report (and keep them registered as Incomes:Dividends), book the dividend transactions in the share account like this: ... Account |R| Share | Price | Buy | Sell ... --------------------------------------------------------------- Assets:Brokerage | | | | 10.35 | Assets:Investments:XXX | | | 1 | | Incomes:Dividends:XXX | | | | | 10.35 (Thanks to Jannick Asmus for the info !) I suggest to close this bug as Resolved - Invalid (or something appropriate).
(Ok, closing this one.)
