GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 580673
[LGM2009] ability to disable/enable thumbnailing and waveforms
Last modified: 2009-05-24 10:03:54 UTC
For performance (or subjective aesthetics) reasons, some users will require to turn off thumbnailing/waveform generation in part or in entirety.
although it would be nice to have, i don't see why this should be a blocker
The reasoning for the blocker status was this: - It makes editing at high resolutions painful on a powerful machine, discouraging the frequent use of zooming in/out - My netbook will make PiTiVi look slow as molasses at the LGM2009 demonstration - This may be the first release with thumbnails in a while, and users may like to revert to the previous behavior - I "assume" it is easy to implement Of course the choice is yours, just explaining why I set it as a blocker initially.
Started LGM branch for a fast-track on LGM-related issues, so this is in my LGM branch. Author: Brandon Lewis <brandon_lewis@berkeley.edu> Date: Thu May 7 00:26:54 2009 -0700 previewer: add config option / preference to disable previews on random-access sources (fixes 580673)
Well, this was recently merged in master, so I guess it's fixed... unless we want to have a way to do show only one thumbnail per clip (finalcut-style)?
