Description Jean-François Fortin Tam 2009-04-29 01:32:01 UTC
For performance (or subjective aesthetics) reasons, some users will require to turn off thumbnailing/waveform generation in part or in entirety.

although it would be nice to have, i don't see why this should be a blocker
Comment 2 Jean-François Fortin Tam 2009-04-30 12:07:23 UTC
The reasoning for the blocker status was this:
- It makes editing at high resolutions painful on a powerful machine, discouraging the frequent use of zooming in/out
- My netbook will make PiTiVi look slow as molasses at the LGM2009 demonstration
- This may be the first release with thumbnails in a while, and users may like to revert to the previous behavior
- I "assume" it is easy to implement

Of course the choice is yours, just explaining why I set it as a blocker initially.

Started LGM branch for a fast-track on LGM-related issues, so this is in my LGM branch.

Well, this was recently merged in master, so I guess it's fixed... unless we want to have a way to do show only one thumbnail per clip (finalcut-style)?
