GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 579705
UMTS Traffic not shown in System Monitor
Last modified: 2020-11-06 19:57:46 UTC
Please describe the problem: The System-Monitor Applet does not show network traffic at all when I am using my Option Globetroter 3+ PCMCIA Card (Nozomi-driver). The traffic is shown in the SystemMonitor itself when opened. Steps to reproduce: 1. Connect PCMCIA card 2. Connect to Network 3. Actual results: Applet monitor stays blank. Expected results: See the traffic, as with other network connections. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information:
I can confirm this bug on Ubuntu jaunty w/ gnome-applets 2.26.1 The bug is related to the multiload_applet. The applet tracks eth0 connection but not ppp0 network traffic. I also can confirm that traffic is shown in the SystemMonitor itself when opened. I would like to post more detailed debug info about but I don't know how to get a log for the applet.
I forgot to mention that the bug still exists in Ubuntu karmic with gnome-applets 2.27.4.
Fails to show network traffic with a Haewei E160G USB device; gnome-applets 2.28.0 Traffic shows up fine in gnome-system-monitor. AfC
Same issue with Huawei E220 USB mobile broadband, gnome-applets 2.28.0-0ubuntu2. Traffic does show in System Monitor window.
Confirmed on Ubuntu Maverick with applet version 2.30.0
